What if pain was but a beacon

A searchlight, for the warmth of our presence

Blocked energy within the body or psyche;

Calling out to our awareness for assistance…

A light we’ve been conditioned to ignore, judge or medicate

By a broken system,

A crumbling old paradigm.

What if instead, we allow ourselves to melt into a relaxed, loving awareness…

A curious emanation of heart;

Towards any inner discomfort -

Whether it be physical, emotional or psychological?

Then we would no doubt discover

The restorative quality

Of our own warm, loving presence.

We’d heal ourselves, internally -

Step by step, layer by layer.

And once we, as individual beings

Return to our organic, harmonious state:

The systems and industries designed to profit off of our illness

Shall fall away, quite naturally.

The frankenfood industry, the pharmaceutical industry

- all will disassemble quite peacefully

when there is no longer any need for them.

Those employed there shall have other callings,

inner yearnings to serve humanity in ways more harmonic.

Real healing,

Real social restructuring,

Real revolution

Starts from within.

The term “mental health” carries within it the seed of the western misunderstanding of emotional wellbeing. We are trained to disconnect from our hearts, from our bodies, from our embodied experiences…thus, we inevitably carry a backlog of pain in our bodies, and, unable to move through it, escape into our minds….the resulting psychological schisms are then labelled “mental health issues”.

But these “issues” cannot be fixed through the mind, for escapism into the mind is but a symptom. They also cannot be healed by removing any addictive tendencies, for they too are but symptoms of deeper wounding.

The pain must be uncovered, felt, and moved through in order for the mind to ease. In western societies, few spaces exist which aim to facilitate such deep healing. Our system prefers to judge the symptoms based on a book called the DSM-V; doling out labels and prescriptions instead.

This can lead to further alienation, pain, and the feeling of defectiveness.

What people need, rather, are safe spaces to BE; encouragement to FEEL, and a loving community which SEES and SUPPORTS them through the process.

True healing only flows through love and unity. This applies first and foremost to love and unity within the self - between mind and body; psyche and soma.
